Covid 19 Vaccination Update
As we shared in early September: The Ontario Minor Hockey Association, our governing body, parent organization and provider of our insurance for Coldwater Minor Hockey has mandated that all members (players and team staff that are eligible for vaccination) be vaccinated by October 31st 2021  to take part within the confines of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association.  Therefore, Coldwater Minor Hockey members must also follow this same mandate.

This is different from the facility usage and spectators guidelines.

Facility operators in Ontario have a different organizational structure. The facilities that Coldwater Minor Hockey uses are managed by the Town of Midland and later the Township of Severn.
Coldwater Minor Hockey is a user group similar to any other entity utilizing the facilities.  The Town of Midland and the Township of Severn have the implemented the following policy for facility users:
*All participants, parents/guardians/spectators will be required to show proof of double vaccination (second dose received at least 14 days prior to visit)or a letter stating a medical exemption each time they enter a recreation facility

However, the OMHA mandate effective October 31, 2021 states:
This policy applies to the following Affected Persons, which includes the following persons:
• Players born in 2009 or earlier
• Team Officials (Coaches, Trainers and Managers, etc.)
• Game Officials (referees, linespersons, timekeepers, etc.)
• Association Officials (minor hockey association directors, officers, executive and staff) • OMHA Officials (directors, officers, executive and staff, including hockey development personnel)
• Volunteers
• Instructors (third parties engaged by Associations or Teams to provide specialized instruction (e.g., power skating, goaltending coaching)
At present, this policy does not apply to hockey players born in 2010 or later
All Affected Persons are required to be Fully Vaccinated (i.e.: including the 14-day period after receiving their completed dose) by October 31, 2021 or earlier.
All Affected Persons must present to their Association designate, as applicable, evidence satisfactory to the OMHA demonstrating that they have received the completed series of an Accepted COVID-19 Vaccine

We appreciate that there are many opinions on the current government policies and Coldwater Minor Hockey has and will continue to adhere to requirements
Thank you for your patience as we work through these constantly changing rules.
